Cenacle Series II Debuts on EWTN in March
Following up on the success of the TV show "Cenacle of The Divine Mercy, Series I," "Series II" debuts this month on EWTN's global Catholic network. The new 13-part series is essentially a Divine Mercy cenacle group meeting for prayer and then discussion on a particular topic. The half-hour shows are now airing weekly on EWTN on Mondays at 2:30 p.m. (EST) and Saturdays at 6:30 a.m. (EST).
Dr. Bryan Thatcher, Director of Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy, and Fr. Joe Roesch, MIC, return as co-hosts of the new series. Interacting with their cenacle members, Bryan and Fr. Joe tackle topics such as "Divine Mercy and the Sanctity of Life" and "Saint Faustina and the Way of the Cross." Other topics include "The Tongue and the Gift of Time," "Divine Mercy and the Sanctity of Life," and "Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration."
As he did with "Series I," Bryan has written a companion guide to "Series II." The guide goes into more depth, helping viewers apply the material in each show. Marian Press plans to release the guide and a DVD set of "Series II" this summer.
Lesson Plans
- Lesson One — The Cenacle Concept — This show introduces The Divine Mercy Cenacle program, providing you with a good plan for launching your own cenacle.
- Lesson Two — Hope — Hope is the theological virtue by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises and relying not on our own strength but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit.
- Lesson Three — Purity of Heart and Intention — We all need God's grace as we seek purity of heart and of intention.
- Lesson Four — Obedience — Obedience for laity is different and perhaps at times more difficult than for religious.
- Lesson Five — St. Faustina and the Holy Spirit — When we allow ourselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we become overshadowed by Him and begin to bear the fruits in our lives.
- Lesson Six — Love — We can begin with a moral and theological certainty: We know that God is love.
- Lesson Seven — Spiritual Poverty and Humility — The attitude of spiritual poverty is not meant just for those in religious life.
- Lesson Eight — The Tongue, Divine Mercy, and the Gift of Time — "Do I use my tongue to praise God?"
- Lesson Nine — Divine Mercy, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Thrust of Pro-Life Consideration — The mission statement of the Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy calls us to pray and work for an end to abortion and to help others to become sensitive to the gift and beauty of all life.
- Lesson Ten — Eucharistic Adoration and Divine Mercy — The Jesus we see in the Image of The Divine Mercy is the same Lord and Savior we encounter in the Consecrated Host.
- Lesson Eleven — Divine Mercy as a Way of Life — We want everyone to realize that this is a message to be lived!
- Lesson Twelve — St. Faustina, the Way of the Cross, and Life's Trials — God never intended for us to suffer. His desire for us has never changed — He wants us to be united with Him in love.
- Lesson Thirteen — The Spirituality of St. Therese, St. Faustina, and Mother Teresa — All three loved the Eucharist, had a longing to save souls, performed deeds of mercy out of love of God, and suffered much.
