Despite single-digit temperatures, the annual March for Life on Wednesday, Jan. 22, drew tens of thousands to Washington, D.C., who rallied for the cause of life and unborn children. The March is held each year on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that made abortion a Constitutional right.
Pope Francis sent his support for the March in the form of a tweet: "I join the March for Life in Washington with my prayers. May God help us respect all life, especially the most vulnerable."
We invite you to view the powerful homily Cardinal Sean O'Malley delivered at the annual Pro-Life Vigil Mass on Tuesday evening. Cardinal O'Malley, archbishop of Boston, is chair of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities.
O'Malley said that the argument for abortion-on-demand is akin to the "Emperor's New Suit:" It is "a lie, a humbug, a deception."
