Who Was St. Dominic Savio?

Saint Dominic Savio (1842-1857) - whose feast day we celebrate March 9 - wasn't long for this world. In fact, he's the youngest non-martyr to be canonized in the Catholic Church.

He was 14 years old, a student of St. John Bosco, and studying to be a priest when he became ill, possibly from pleurisy, a painful inflammation around the lungs

Pope Pius XI described St. Dominic Savio as "small in size, but a towering giant in spirit."
