The National Shrine celebrates St. Faustina's Feast Day

STOCKBRIDGE, MA — The National Shrine of The Divine Mercy is inviting the public to join the Marian Fathers and Brothers in celebrating the feast day of St. Faustina Kowalska, Saturday, Oct. 9. The day's schedule includes speakers, a dramatic presentation of the life of St. Faustina, opportunities for confession, and Holy Mass.

St. Faustina (1905-1938) was a Polish nun and mystic who had a series of amazing, personal revelations with Jesus Christ that she recorded in her Diary. Canonized by Pope John Paul II on Mercy Sunday, April 30, 2000, St. Faustina records Our Lord's desire for all to know of His mercy. The Marians, who administer the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, are dedicated to spreading the Divine Mercy message and devotion throughout the world.

Built in 1950, The National Shrine of The Divine Mercy serves thousands of pilgrims every year, introducing many of them to the Divine Mercy message and devotion. The Marians of the Immaculate Conception are a Congregation of more than 600 priests and brothers in 18 countries around the World. In addition to being the custodians of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy, the Congregation operates the publishing apostolate Marian Press, which publishes the magazines Marian Helper, Fuente, and Roze Maryi.
