St. Peregrine Novena Begins

An Italian priest in the 13th century, St. Peregrine is known as the "Miracle-Worker" because of numerous miracles received through his intercession.

The patron saint of cancer patients, he himself knew the experience of pain and illness. He was diagnosed with cancer in his leg and awaited amputation. The eve before the scheduled procedure, St. Peregrine brought himself to a crucifix. He received a vision of the Risen Lord extending His hand to touch the priest's afflicted leg. The saint's limb was instantly healed.
