Hungry for God

The trouble with sin is that it is so darn invisible. Sins are like calories - they are so easy to put on. On my wedding day 33 years ago, I was a size 9. And today, like most people my age, I occasionally glance at my reflection in the mirror and say to myself: Ugghh!

Rarely did I stop long enough to ponder the transformation from cute young woman to larger than life. I guess, like for many of us, the pounds come on so gradually that we do not allow our minds to comprehend the enormity of the situation until we reach a crisis or something forces our hand.

EWTN Airs Divine Mercy Cenacle Program

The Eternal World Television Network (EWTN) is featuring the Marians of the Immaculate Conception 13-week teaching program, Cenacle of The Divine Mercy, based on the the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and St. Faustina's Diary.

Filmed at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, the program is hosted by Fr. Joseph Roesch, MIC, and Dr. Bryan Thatcher, MD, Director of Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy (EADM).

Heroic Love

Oh what a privilege it is to be a stubby pencil in the powerful hand of the Awesome God, to speak of the wonders of His love and to proclaim with joy the work He does in us, His beautiful children.

Several years ago I could never have said that. I was much too afraid of God's wrath and judgment.

What peace and joy it is to surrender to the knowledge and truth that God is our beloved friend.

Connecting the Dots

Every so often someone will ask me, "Does God really exist?" I know the answer is yes, but how does one open the heart of another so they can see and feel the presence of God? How can I better articulate the "God-incidences" that continue to happen in my life that reaffirms this belief?

Mercy in the Streets

I want to share a true story about a man I met on the streets of Tampa, Fla. I'll call him "Donald."

I will never forget the first time I met Donald. My husband and I, along with a few friends, were doing what we did every Sunday afternoon for more than six years. We were feeding the homeless men and women who tragically call the street their home. We would all drive our own vehicles and caravan to four different stops around the downtown area.

A Sign

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you. You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger' " (Lk 2:8-12).

Open Your Hearts to Jesus

As I travel all over the world speaking to people on the message of Divine Mercy and the difficulties of my own spiritual journey, it has become obvious to me that many people understand the devotional aspects of the Divine Mercy message; many know about the Chaplet or the Image or the Feast Day, but fewer know how to integrate the message into their daily lives by taking the needed steps in the conversion process to bring them closer to Jesus, The Divine Merc

'Rays of Mercy were Radiating'

Hundreds of Divine Mercy devotees attended the fifth annual Divine Mercy Conference hosted by the Marians of the Immaculate Conception's Province in Brazil.

The conference was held at The Divine Mercy Shrine in Curitiba, from Oct. 22-24.

"The people of Brazil were receptive to the message of Divine Mercy, and I felt that many had already integrated it into their minds and hearts," says Dr. Bryan Thatcher, the founder of Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy (EADM), a lay outreach ministry of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception.

Canadian EADM Group Going Strong!

Susan Dela Rosa wrote and told us, "Our EADM 1st year anniversary – capped with a dinner-dance fundraiser – was a huge success! From the original core group, 22 cenacle members remain, and new members came aboard! We have been meeting for just over a year, and the group has borne many fruits. We have seen the conversion, commitment, dedication, and love of the cenacle members in serving the Lord through our weekly cenacle prayer meetings."
