You probably know at least a bit about St. Joseph, the humble carpenter and foster father to Jesus.

You probably know how an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins" (Mt 1:18-22).

This was my question at my last silent retreat, What does the lily of St. Joseph represent and how am I to apply that to my list. Thanks so much for the explanation of the early church on the meaning of the lily of St Joseph.
