Part One: The Church and the Priesthood Belong to Jesus

The following is the first in a seven-part series.

Men and women were both created in the "image of God," right?

And the Church teaches that men and women are of equal value in the eyes of God, right?

Then why does the Church still say that only men are called by God to the Catholic priesthood, and therefore that only men can be ordained?

Hope for the Church in India

Plans for the Marians' house in India reach decades into the past, and peer half a century into the future. We sat down with Fr. Wojciech Jasi?ski, MIC, a Marian General Councilor in Rome, to find out about the Marians' progress India.

How long have the Marians been in India?
We opened a formation house in Tamil Nadu, India, nearly 10 years ago, but we started searching and discerning the new mission years before.

What was the main motive for a Marian presence there?

A Model of Manhood

In my recent travels giving parish missions, I've encountered groups who call themselves The Men of St. Joseph. I met them in Vermont and also in Mobile, Alabama, where the group has its headquarters.

I love seeing this. I love seeing men discovering - or rediscovering (whatever the case may be) - their traditional and indispensable role in their families, communities, and parishes. After all, we live in an age that's confused about manhood and masculinity. When we turn to St. Joseph as a model, our society stands to strengthen itself.
