No Amount of Bad News can Beat God’s Mercy

By Marc Massery

Turn to any page of St. Faustina’s Diary, and you’ll find spiritual gems. Like this one:

Write, My daughter, that I am mercy itself for the contrite soul. A soul’s greatest wretchedness does not enkindle Me with wrath; but rather, My Heart is moved towards it with great mercy (Diary, 1739).

It happens every now and then. A terrible tragedy makes headlines, like a school shooting, and we can hardly bear to read the details.

‘Why Not Me?’

By Marc Massery

Despite the tragedy of losing one of his limbs, Al Kresta, the president and CEO of Ave Maria Radio, says that he has come to experience the power of God’s Divine Mercy.

“In the Providence of God, these kinds of things come our way, but they’re used by God to equip us for wider service,” Al said.

It started back in 2003 when Al, a pioneer of Catholic radio, found himself in the midst of a spiritual trial. In fact, during a visit, Al told a friend, “I think it’s going to take some real serious suffering to break this spiritual logjam.”
