If God's message of Divine Mercy is eternal, why did He appear in 1931 to St. Faustina, an unknown Polish nun, and ask her to remind the world of His mercy?

In this video, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, director of the Association of Marian Helpers, recounts the history of the devotion of Divine Mercy, explaining the five elements of the devotion and what they can do for our spiritual lives:

• the Feast of Divine Mercy;
• the Image of Divine Mercy;
• the Divine Mercy Novena;
• the Chaplet of Divine Mercy; and
• the Hour of Great Mercy.

Learn how you can experience more of God's mercy by committing yourself to the great devotion of Divine Mercy. Watch the final installment in a four-part series filmed by Ascension Press, in conjunction with Marian Press:

The repackaging analogy is spot on. Since I read about the devotion and began praying the Novena daily and the chaplet at the Three O'clock Hour, I now find God's message of mercy in so many places. In Scripture, prayers, the liturgy, where that message has always been, but now resonates so much more.

that was a really helpful analogy with the Tony the Tiger cereal box being the appealing package for cereal flakes that are frosted, like how the Divine Mercy Image/ devotions are the beautiful package that the essential ancient Truth of God's Mercy is now presented in to attract those who need to partake of it. All I can say about the Divine Mercy devotions are...
