Shrine Sets Divine Mercy Sunday Plans

More than 20,000 people are expected for the annual Divine Mercy Weekend celebration at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

The Marians' dear friend and co-worker in the spread of the Divine Mercy message, Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger of the Diocese of Albany, New York, will be the principal celebrant for the Solemn Liturgy at 1 p.m. on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 23.

Both the Sunday liturgy and the Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, will be celebrated on Eden Hill at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine.

On Saturday morning, the Marian Fathers will host their annual Mercy Weekend Conference. The theme is "Our Call from Fatima and Faustina." The speakers include Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, and Fr. Chris Alar, MIC. The conference will run from 10 a.m. to noon. General admission is $15 (bag lunch included). Admission is free for members of the Thirteenth of the Month Club, Friends of Mercy, and the Holy Souls Sodality. To register, please visit TheDivineMercy.org/mwc or call 1-800-462-7426 (Press 5).

Throughout the weekend, tents will be set up on Eden Hill for Confessions, Adoration, and the Divine Mercy
Gift Shop.

One highlight of the weekend will be the prayer banner composed of thousands of pieces of cloth. Each one will bear a Marian Helper's prayer intention for Divine Mercy Sunday. Please visit marian.org/prayerbanner to submit intentions.

Due to the unpredictable spring weather in the Berkshires, pilgrims are advised to dress in layers. Wear comfortable shoes that have traction, and don't forget rain gear.

If you can't make it to the Shrine on Divine Mercy Sunday, you can view the celebration live on EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network). The show begins at noon EST, followed by the Solemn Liturgy at 1 p.m.
