Who was St. Maximilian Kolbe?

Saint Maximilian Kolbe (1894-1941) - patron for drug addicts, families, imprisoned people, journalists, and priests, among others - is one of the 20th century's most famous saints and influential priests.

His feast day is Aug. 14.

"He demonstrated in an extraordinary fashion the call to love others so completely that he loved them even more than he loved himself," says Fr. Dan Cambra, MIC, in his latest installment in his series on the saints.
