St. Joseph the Worker

On the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Chris Sparks says it’s worth taking some time to count our blessings, espcially given the big news in Wisconsin (following Louisiana) and the Philippines!

As the earthly father of Jesus and the chaste spouse of Mary, St. Joseph the Worker (feast day: May 1) teaches men how to be faithful stewards of their time, talent, and treasure through self-mastery, discipline, and hard work, says Fr. Angelo Casimiro, MIC.

The first day of May is the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, the most important of all saints after the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Donald Calloway, MIC, explains how St. Joseph is the model of all who labor, and an inspiration to Catholic Social Teaching which counters movements that seek to strip people of their human dignity and eliminate God from the minds and hearts of families and nations. Then hear the amazing story of the Coakley family and how, even in tragedy, St. Joseph is always there to help us.

Let us follow the lead of the Lord and put ourselves under the paternal care of St. Joseph.
