Our Lady of Fatima

May 13 marks the 109th anniversary of Our Lady’s first apparition at Fatima. Our Lady continues to invite us to renewed hope, to deeper conversion of our hearts to Christ, and to remind us of her loving intercession before her Son for all our needs and prayers.

Episode 161 with Fr. Joe Roesch
Father Joe Roesch, MIC, Superior General of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, joins the Mercy Unbound podcast from Rome. You may recognize him from EWTN, where he moderated the Divine Mercy Sunday celebration from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass.

This Saturday, Aug. 3, is a First Saturday. It’s the sort of devotion that we need to keep promoting, and reminding ourselves to make, as well. Christ and His Church face many foes today, and the Mother of God has given us the remedy to defeating the greater part of these enemies strength.

Times are tough, but they can be made better, and according to Heaven, turning to Our Lady is a key part of the answer, especially on her feast (June 17).

Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC, explains the origins of the devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary - two of the most important of all devotions in the Church.

In this episode, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, discusses the requests made by Our Lady at Fatima that, if followed by us, would ward off chastisements and lead to the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. Among these were to pray the Rosary daily for peace, and also to observe First Saturdays to make reparation for the blasphemies committed against her. Fr. Chris explains why this is one of the "Big 4" of all Catholic devotions.

On this, the feast of Our Lady of Fatima and the anniversary of the first of her apparitions, let us turn to her with trust in her promises.
