Authentic Catholic Feminism

Can authentic Catholics be “feminists”? Pope St. John Paul repeatedly called for a new, truly Catholic feminism that would challenge the way the secular world approaches the rights and dignity of women in our time. This "New Catholic Feminism" is rooted in Scripture, Catholic Tradition, and the lives of the Saints.

Like the most popular forms of secular feminism, New Catholic Feminism upholds the equal value of women, but it proclaims that women also have distinctive gifts that they bring to families, to the workplace, and to wider society, and that we need to welcome and foster these gifts. In fact, St. John Paul insisted that our lost and broken world needs this “feminine genius” now, more than ever.

Join theologian and scholar Robert Stackpole, STD, Director of the John Paul II Institute of Divine Mercy, as he explores the roots and the relevance of this exciting new movement in Catholicism today.

As both a bishop and archbishop, Blessed George was recognized for his work as an apostle of unity during tumultuous times in his native Lithuania. Join Fr. Joe Roesch, MIC, as he reads "The Mystical Temple of God" by St. Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczyński (1631-1701), priest and founder of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Imitation of Christ with Fr. Joe Roesch

Jesus said, "Whoever wishes to come after Me, must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24). This is what Christians have been trying to do for centuries: to become like Christ. The old expression was "imitating Christ"; now we say, "following Christ," walking in His footsteps, to become like Him. Join Fr. Joe Roesch, MIC, as he reads the spiritual classic, "The Imitation of Christ," from beginning to end. It was written in the 1400s, yet sounds like it was written yesterday. Translated into languages all over the world, it is said to be the most well-read book in the world next to the Bible. "The Imitation of Christ" was read and beloved by many of the saints, and offers great spiritual advice for every age. Father Roesch is reading the translation by Aloysius Croft and Harold Bolton, available in a PDF download from CatholicPlanet.com.
