'Thou Art the King of Glory'

By Fr. Andy Davy, MIC

A Sunset reveals
The King of Glory

A Sun at midday,
though dazzling

Does not contain
the Colorful Beauty
of the Sun's Last Gasp

Before Shadow falls
Upon the light,
The Glory of the Sun is revealed

Breathtaking Beauty
That Makes Time Stop -

Yellow Beams
Slide into Pink
And Bloody Red Cascading
Over the Clouds
As in Oceantide

Sun's Beauty
(Nay, the Sun's Glory!)
Displayed
In its final moments
of Agony.

Beauty-Wrenching
Heart.
Love Felt:
Rejoiced and Pained.

As the Beauty of Blood
Red
Spills forth
Slipping away into
Nothingness,

One last Flash of light!
Crying out
"It is finished!"
Sunlight entombed
Under the Horizon.

Light has fallen
into Night.
Warmth turns
Stone Cold.
Cruel Shadows of
Child's fears,
Begin to prance about.
Life without color,
Warmth,
Beauty.
life without Life.

Still shivering,
I hold onto the Moon -
Still Shining,
Though Sun has set.

The Moon.
A Promise.
His Light
Fills
Her with Light.
Could it be...?

AWAKE! to fleeing
Shadows cut in two by
Force of First Light!

AWAKE! The return of
Sight to the Blind
And warmth
To the Chill of Bone!

AWAKE! as wings flutter
about,
And the Vanguard of the
Sky's Colorful Array
Cries out:

THOU ART THE
KING OF GLORY!
