Work in Healthcare?

By Marie Romagnano, RN

Around each anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, healthcare professionals are especially reminded how difficult it was to see and experience the tremendous suffering of our fellow Americans. The way we stay strong spiritually is by turning to Jesus, the Divine Healer, who specifically chose us for our vocation as healthcare professionals.

We all need help turning to Jesus. One proven way is to attend the annual Retreat for Healthcare Professionals, sponsored by Healthcare Professionals for Divine Mercy and the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception.

Staying spiritually strong in times of tragedy can only be accomplished through God's mercy and unending grace. This is why an annual retreat is so important - to spend quiet time with Jesus in prayer and Adoration, asking Him for the guidance we need, entrusting ourselves to Our Lady and asking her to help us grow in trust and mercy.

The retreat is being led by Fr. Kazimierz Chwalek, MIC, a renowned speaker and scholar with an expertise in the message of The Divine Mercy and Marian spirituality.

You can choose from two retreat dates: Oct. 28-31 or Nov. 11-14, 2011.

The location is Cape Cod, Mass., in a quiet atmosphere conducive to prayer and spiritual fellowshop. The retreat will include talks by Fr. Kaz, Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, group discussions, and opportunities for individual spiritual direction and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

This is an exceptional opportunity to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament to reflect on our lives and our work. How does Jesus use our hands and hearts to accomplish His will? How can we depend on Him more and ask Him to show us how to care for our patients?

The spiritual benefits and joy of this retreat are open to all healthcare professionals. Please join us. Enroll early. Space is limited to eight participants for each retreat date.
