Ask For A Lot!

[Jesus said], “I rejoice that [souls] ask for much, because it is My desire to give much, very much. On the other hand, I am sad when souls ask for little, when they narrow their hearts” (1578).

Did you know that God rejoices when you ask Him for a lot?

Some of us think we need to bargain with God. We say to ourselves, "Oh, I better not ask for too much from Him or else I might overdo it." But that's not how God works. He doesn't want us to see Him as a calculating negotiator in a business deal. He wants us to approach Him as our loving Father.

This doesn’t necessarily mean the Lord likes when you ask to win the lottery. He wants you to ask Him for things far more meaningful. He wants you to ask Him to fulfill the deepest desires of your heart.

God searches your heart. He knows you better than you know yourself. He made you for a specific purpose, with talents and life experiences that He wants you to use to help you find fulfillment. The closer you get to Him, the more you’ll learn about yourself, and the easier it will be to discover what He created you for.

As it says in Scripture, “And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.” (Jn 14:13-14). God doesn't want us to limit Him.

It’s never too late to give your life entirely to Jesus. He meets you where you are and wants to help you use your talents and experiences to help build up the Church. Just follow Him as best you can, give Him your trust, and He will lead you where He wants you to go.

One sister said to me, “Get ready, Sister, to receive a small cross at the hands of Mother Superior. I feel sorry for you.” But as for me, I rejoiced at this in the depths of my soul.
