“This is a great opportunity to prepare for Divine Mercy Sunday,” said the Very Rev. Kaz Chwalek, MIC, provincial superior of the Marian Fathers in the United States and Argentina. “In a time of pandemic, we can find so much solace in a miracle-working saint, St. Faustina, the Lord’s Secretary of Divine Mercy, who invites us to open our hearts to Jesus, our Merciful Savior.”

The film was originally due to screen in cinemas in multiple countries in April, but due to the coronavirus, the film is going straight to streaming — for a limited period.

DVDs of “Love and Mercy: Faustina” can also be purchased at ShopMercy.org.

In the United States, the film has already been seen at movie theatres by 200,000 people over a span of only three days.

"Love and Mercy: Faustina" breaks new ground with the discovery of original writings from Blessed Michal Sopocko, the confessor of St. Faustina Kowalska. Directed by Michal Kondrat, this docudrama focuses on St. Faustina, who was chosen by God for the crucial mission of bringing the message of Divine Mercy to the world. Thanks to newly revealed letters and documents, this film sheds new light on Divine Mercy and underscores that Faustina had truly seen Jesus.

“Love and Mercy: Faustina” shows how the Divine Mercy movement was born and how it spread. The film reveals the details of the process of painting the famous Divine Mercy Image that was made at Jesus’ request. The film also gives noteworthy portrayals of Fr. Michal Sopocko and Pope John Paull II, who were both integral to spreading the message of Divine Mercy.
